Clean Utilities Engineer SME - Owners Rep - US, Richmond - 12 Month Contract

We’re supporting a major new-build facility in Richmond, a multi-billion-dollar investment designed to push the boundaries of science and engineering. We’re looking for a Clean Utilities Engineer SME to join the team and help deliver this world-class program.

What you’ll do:

• Drive Project Progression.
• Provide expert input on design concepts, block flow diagrams, and system sizing for clean utilities including: Clean steam, WFI (Water for Injection), Water pre-treatment, Clean compressed air and other clean utility systems.
• Participate in system reviews and compare clean utility requirements across two production buildings, aligning design decisions with site and corporate standards.

What you’ll need:

• Extensive mechanical field oversight on large CAPEX projects (>$500m), with proven experience in pharmaceutical/biotech.
• Hands-on knowledge of high-purity and process piping systems, utilities (WFI, clean steam, gases), and vendor package installation.
• Demonstrated ability to review, challenge, and drive mechanical design quality, including P&IDs, utility schematics, equipment specifications, and vendor submittals, ensuring constructability and operational readiness across high-risk systems
