Technical Design Lead - Spain - 24-30 Month Contract

Do you want to be involved with exciting pharmaceutical projects?

When it comes to the development and production of veterinary vaccines, our pharmaceutical client has the largest centre in the industry worldwide and is a Centre of Excellence; employing more than 1000 people. They are looking to add to their team and require a Technical Design Lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Sponsor to ensure the technical scopes are aligned with Business and project needs.
  • Work with appointed design contractors to evaluate in partnership the technical competence of design contractors and proposed external team member qualifications and engage with the Project Manager in their selection.
  • Work cross-functionally across the project.
  • Develop technical performance criteria together with the end-users and ensures these are met during start-up and early operation.
  • Demonstrate client-side stakeholder management responsibilities.
Desirable Experience:
  • Master of Science or Bachelor in Science or equivalent. 
  • Extensive experience from major capital projects, capital and/or complex projects – Either Greenfield or Brownfield project
  • Relevant strategic, technical and leadership expertise with a background in biologics manufacturing preferred.
  • Very good communication, stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing skills
  • Can use lean design processes and their application.
  • Developing relationships and gaining credibility with your User team , Stakeholders and Suppliers are key to establishing an effective project delivery team.
  • Ability to present a robust technical proposal, listen to other perspectives, and reach a decision in the best interests of the project and the business as a whole.
